About The Position

The Commercial Legal Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, completing complex legal tasks and legal support staff functions in all states in which the Firm operates. This role involves assisting in preparing files, reviewing, drafting, filing, and serving legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence. The assistant will also follow, create, and maintain standard operating procedures, and demonstrate the Firm’s core values in all interactions. Daily tasks include scanning, photocopying, collating, faxing, legal data entry, and handling client inquiries. The position requires the ability to multitask, a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while prioritizing deadlines. Effective communication, strong customer service skills, and a self-starter mentality are essential. Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required, along with the ability to extract information from the firm’s software for reports or summaries. A typing speed of 50+ WPM is necessary. The role also involves the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds. All other duties as assigned.

  • Background in civil litigation required.
  • Background in Creditors Rights Laws preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete complex legal tasks, in addition to legal support staff functions in all states in which the Firm operates.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
