About The Position

As a Landscape Install Foreman, you are the frontline leader responsible for transforming raw construction sites into high-end commercial landscapes. This role requires a master-level understanding of Florida horticulture, commercial site logistics, and crew management. You will bridge the gap between architectural plans and ground-level execution, ensuring every tree, shrub, and sod pallet is installed to the highest industry standards while maintaining a strict culture of safety and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial landscape installation experience with at least 1 year in a proven leadership/Foreman role.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and performing site layouts.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of construction equipment (skid steers, augers, tillers).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • OSHA 10-hour card is a plus; must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to work 8–10 hour days in extreme Southwest Florida conditions (high heat, humidity, and sun).
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly and perform physical labor (kneeling, bending, squatting) for prolonged periods.
  • Standard 5-day work week; must be flexible for overtime or occasional weekend work to meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Southwest Florida plant palettes is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant advantage in the Fort Myers market.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Production: Lead a crew to complete installations per plans and specs, hitting daily production goals without sacrificing quality.
  • Strategic Planning: Conduct daily briefings with the Project Superintendent to align on schedule, material deliveries, and site logistics.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and submit digital/physical paperwork, including daily logs, safety sheets, equipment inspections, and time tracking.
  • Mentorship: Train crew members on company standards, ensuring a path for their professional growth and long-term retention.
  • Plan Mastery: Read and interpret complex landscape blueprints, performing precise layouts for plant materials, grading, and site features.
  • Horticultural Excellence: Oversee the proper planting of Florida-specific trees, shrubs, ground covers, and annuals, including bracing, mulching, and initial fertilization.
  • Site Grading & Prep: Expertly manage digging, trenching, and soil amendments to ensure proper drainage and plant health in Southwest Florida's unique soil conditions.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and skillfully operate heavy machinery including skid steers, mini-excavators, loaders, and trenchers.
  • OSHA Compliance: Enforce all company and OSHA safety regulations; ensure the crew is consistently wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Trade Coordination: Work thoughtfully to avoid damaging the work of other trades (Irrigation, Hardscape, Electrical).
  • Inventory Control: Receive and verify material shipments on-site, ensuring quantities match packing slips and quality meets specs.
