Commercial Kitchen Hot Side Service Technician
About The Position
General Parts is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Hot Side Technician for their Green Bay, Wisconsin location. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as gas, electric, and steam grills, ovens, and freezers. The technician will be responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction by keeping them updated on repair status and part requests, completing ongoing training and certifications, adhering to safety policies, and managing truck inventory. The position requires a willingness to work a 40-hour weekly schedule and be on-call for nights and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including electronics, steam, gas, and refrigeration.
- Refrigeration technicians must be EPA certified.
- Must be highly safety-conscious.
- Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds).
- Requires frequent walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and turning.
- Must be able to use hands for fine manipulation of hand tools.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of relevant experience, education, or military experience preferred.
- CFESA Certification is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen equipment that uses gas, electric, and steam to include grills, ovens, freezers, etc.
- Keeps the customer and branch office updated on repair status and part requests to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Completes appropriate technical and manufacturing training/certification ongoing.
- Adheres company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Manages truck inventory and keeps service vehicle, tools, and uniforms consistent with Heritage standards of excellence.
- Willingness to work 40-hour weekly schedule and on-call nights and weekends as required
