United Contractor Services•Atlanta, GA
•$60,000 - $90,000•Onsite

About The Position

United Contractor Services is a Top 50 Walls and Ceilings Contractor and one of the fastest-growing specialty subcontractors in North America. Our own crews self-perform metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, stucco, painting, and Division 8 and 10 specialties for general contractors who keep bringing us back. As we grow, we're adding field leaders who can run our scope on commercial interiors projects from the first layout line to the last punch item, safely and on budget. This is a traveling role, with projects in markets across the country as well as in Georgia. We make it work for you with company-paid lodging, a meal per diem on the road, and mileage reimbursement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a superintendent on commercial construction projects
  • Drywall, metal framing, or acoustical ceiling experience, ideally on the subcontractor side
  • Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide
  • Accurate layout skills on complex commercial interiors, using lasers and control lines
  • Confident reading of architectural drawings, RCPs, wall types, and specs
  • Working knowledge of fire-rated assemblies and drywall finish levels
  • Direct, clear communication with GCs, foremen, and our project managers
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Comfortable with cloud-based field reporting tools (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Shoot layout and establish control lines for framing, including head-of-wall and deflection details
  • Review drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and wall type schedules for conflicts, and send questions to your PM early
  • Set daily manpower and keep a two- to three-week look-ahead that fits inside the GC's master schedule
  • Lead foremen and crews with clear expectations for production, quality, and safety
  • Line up deliveries, hoisting, lifts, and equipment so crews never wait on material
  • Sequence framing, rough-in coordination, board, finish, and ceilings with the other trades on site
  • Prepare the work for above-ceiling, cover, and framing inspections, and verify that rated assemblies are built to the UL design
  • Catch extra work and field changes as they happen, and document them so the PM can price and bill them
  • Drive punch lists to completion and turn finished areas over to the GC
  • Keep daily reports, manpower logs, and progress photos current through the end of the job

Benefits

  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Company-paid lodging and per diem while traveling
