About The Position

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants is seeking an experienced Broker / Account Executive to join their Law Firm specialty team. This role focuses on client servicing and marketing, not sales or production. The primary responsibilities include providing day-to-day customer service, completing ad hoc projects, responding to client inquiries, offering insurance program design and risk consulting, and managing the negotiation and implementation of clients’ insurance programs. The Broker will maintain frequent communication with clients and oversee the execution of the account service plan and routine transactions, utilizing EPIC's resources to foster positive client relationships.

Requirements

  • At least 7+ years of insurance industry experience, with a focus on Casualty and Property lines
  • Experience working with law firm-related Casualty and Property policies (GL, BOP, Workers Comp., Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Umbrella) and practices that go along with law firm operations
  • Working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Office computer software applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Property & Casualty license
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Support team by helping lead new business opportunity efforts and existing client renewals
  • Prepare and present renewal results to clients
  • Review documents for client pre-renewal and renewal meetings prepared by the Account Specialist
  • Coordinate all pre-renewal work completed by other team members such as the renewal planning information prepared by the Account Specialist
  • Execute agreed upon strategy established at the pre-renewal meeting and brokering of renewals, including managing the timeline, sending submissions with coverage specifications, negotiating options with underwriters and key wholesaler partners (in the US, London and Bermuda), and negotiating coverage enhancements and reviewing quotes
  • Broker Casualty and Property lines of coverage (GL, BOP, Workers Comp., Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Umbrella), including group captives
  • Confirm compliance or exceptions to requested coverage
  • Complete and/or review renewal report (including coverage and rating analysis and other benchmarking and analytical functions)
  • Participate in meetings to present renewal terms/options to the client
  • Sign off on renewal billing and monitor endorsement requests and policy delivery to clients; oversee completion and delivery of clients’ post-binding documentation
  • In coordination with the Account Specialist and Associate Broker, review all renewal documents including: Binders, Confirmation of Coverage, Certificates of Insurance, Insurance program chart, Sagitta and ImageRight input, and Master Certificates, including endorsements
  • Maintain all files and electronic records per company policy
  • In coordination with Account Specialist, collect all policies and review findings after ReSourcePro has completed the review of the policies
  • Build strong relationships with underwriters and clients
  • Handle day-to-day client services including but not limited to: handling and documenting mid-term requests such as policy endorsements, providing risk review of contracts (insurance only v. indemnity v. full contract review), answering coverage questions, performing client training on a periodic or as-needed basis, documenting customer service transactions including phone conversations and processing of daily work, and handling material change transactions such as merger, acquisition, dissolution, as needed
  • Use EPIC credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments
  • Actively participate in and support EPIC Law Firm Group training endeavors
  • Provide miscellaneous risk-related services as needed
  • Coordination with client service team consisting of the following: Professional Liability Specialist, Executive Risk Placement Specialist, Account Specialist, Account Manager, Risk Management Director (if applicable), Accounting, Policy Management, Certificate Specialist
  • Provide back-up to other team members including Senior Client Advisor and Client Executive while they are travelling
  • Proactively and independently resolve client problems
  • Oversee claims handling and coordination with Director of Risk Management
  • Support work related to new client acquisition such as coverage analysis and report preparation
  • Participate in industry-specific professional organizations and become a subject matter expert of coverages for Law Firms
  • Support Senior Client Advisor and Client Executive with account service and client relationships
