About The Position

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial door systems, including sectional, rolling steel, high-speed, fired-rated and speciality doors. The role supports a variety of environments, including commercial properties, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial settings. Work is frequently performed at active job sites during normal business operations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial door installation, mechanical trades, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements
  • Willingness to learn products and processes.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements (i.e. background, drug, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair a broad range of commercial and industrial door systems, operators, and related equipment, including sectional, rolling steel, fire-rated, high-speed, dock equipment, and specialty doors.
  • Perform scheduled service calls and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety of door systems.
  • Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine appropriate installation procedures.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lift equipment, and other machinery required for installation and service work.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable job site safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with site supervisors, contractors, and customers to coordinate access, timelines, and work expectations.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, including time records, and inspection checklists.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment as necessary to support job site operations.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time at their sole and complete discretion.
