We are looking for an experienced COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL PROJECT MANAGER in our Columbus, OH office location. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist project management in the successful supervision and management of construction activities, in the safest manner possible. This position may require occasional travel or relocation. Role Summary The Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and successful execution of assigned commercial and industrial electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role oversees project teams, manages financial performance, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships, and provides strategic direction to drive profitability and operational excellence from project start through closeout.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Utilize innovative and effective leadership techniques to maximize employee and project performance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Project Management experience successfully completing multi-million dollar electrical construction projects.
  • Experience in large commercial and industrial markets in the Columbus area.

Responsibilities

  • The overall successful management of assigned projects including budgets, schedules, resource and workforce allocation, communication and client satisfaction.
  • Timely decisions and direction to ensure project profitability.
  • The proper utilization and management of Company-Owned and rented equipment.
  • Direct supervision of all project assigned supervisory and other management/office staff.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and input into the development and updating of all project schedules, job cost and other management reporting.
  • Provide key input into the development and execution of all subcontracts, purchase orders, payment requisitions, proposals, etc.
  • If appropriate, review and approve all job site purchases.
  • Review and approve all key job site construction methods and practices.
  • Prepare for timely submission all necessary monthly job cost and other financial reports.
  • Support all Company training and employee development activities and provide appropriate input and feedback, as necessary.
  • Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of workmanship, and that all work and materials are in compliance with project specifications and drawings.
  • Manage all job close out procedures to ensure project and Company requirements are met.
  • Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.
