About The Position

The Commercial HVAC Technician will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial facilities, including high-rise condominiums, schools, and large campuses. You will be expected to execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs, perform retrofits and changeouts, and ensure equipment is operating at peak efficiency. This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires strong technical ability, excellent documentation skills, and professional interaction with customers and team members.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance.
EPA Universal Certification required.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
VFD controls
Low-voltage troubleshooting and control wiring
Ability to supervise and oversee subcontractors during repairs or installs.
Strong mathematical, administrative, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
High drive, accountability, and a "can do" team-first attitude.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Possible travel required to off-site locations including overnight trips.

Nice To Haves

Continuing education in HVAC, construction, or facilities management preferred.
NATE or equivalent certifications welcome.

Responsibilities

Service and maintain a wide range of HVAC equipment including: Cooling Towers, Chillers, Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHP), Split Systems and Mini Splits, Water Pumps and Boilers, Rooftop Units (RTU)
Perform all service types: Preventive Maintenance (PM), Retrofits and Changeouts, Troubleshooting and Diagnostics, New Installations
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans/drawings for accurate execution.
Provide exceptional customer service through professional communication and clear updates.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the company CRM for all service requests and completed work orders.
Work collaboratively with ABC Mechanical leadership, subcontractors, and vendors.
Ensure proper van stock inventory management and maintain an organized and clean service vehicle.
Comply with all safety regulations, company SOPs, and industry best practices.
Mentor and assist junior team members when required.
Follow federal and state laws, as well as established company policies.
