About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Test & Balance (TAB) Estimator to join our growing national team. In this role, you will prepare accurate and competitive bids for Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB) projects and related services for clients across the country. National TAB is a NEBB Certified national Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB) company. We act as a true partner for clients from pre-construction through ongoing facility operations. We serve mechanical & general contractors, equipment suppliers, national chains, schools, and public/private institutions nationwide. We believe in hiring associates, not just employees — and we’re committed to challenging, developing, and partnering with our team to deliver exceptional results.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as an estimator in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or general construction (candidates with related field experience will be considered).
  • Understanding of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills — confident initiating outreach and discussions with clients and partners.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a big plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple bids under deadlines.
  • Self-motivated team player with a passion for the construction/HVAC industry.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming bid opportunities and determine which projects align with our strengths.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed, competitive cost estimates for TAB, duct leakage testing, commissioning, IAQ services, and related scopes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, sales, and subcontractors to refine scope and ensure estimates are accurate and winning.
  • Prepare clear, professional proposals, bids, and quotes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and improve estimating tools, historical pricing data, Excel models, and our CRM (Pipedrive).
  • Participate in bid review and strategy meetings.
  • Proactively reach out to general contractors, owners, architects, and vendors (phone, email, meetings) to clarify details, build relationships, and uncover new opportunities.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off).
  • Opportunities for professional growth, development, and advancement in a supportive, partnership-oriented culture.
  • The chance to work on diverse, high-impact commercial projects nationwide.
