About The Position

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures client systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with safety and performance standards while delivering professional, customer-focused service.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience (commercial/industrial preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Journeyman or close to completion required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact effectively with clients and coworkers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems including chillers, rooftop units, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, and related controls.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and extend equipment life.
  • Conduct system start-ups, commissioning, and performance testing to ensure proper operation.
  • Install replacement parts, motors, compressors, belts, filters, and other components as required.
  • Utilize building automation and control systems to monitor, adjust, and optimize system performance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls; provide accurate assessments and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed service records including work performed, parts used, and system performance.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and options for repairs or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with project managers, coordinators, and fellow technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Uphold all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards during field work.
