Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC/R environments with construction experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and appliances repair.
  • Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately; familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
  • Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical systems effectively.
  • Experience with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems; knowledge of mechanical systems repair is essential.
  • Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred for van driving responsibilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Commercial HVAC/R Service experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited HVAC technical training program.
  • EPA Universal Certification (Required).
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of: Commercial HVAC systems, Refrigeration systems, Electrical troubleshooting, Boilers, HVAC controls and control systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
  • Experience servicing retail and commercial facilities.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and controls experience.
  • Additional HVAC/R certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend lifespan.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to execute installations and repairs accurately.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems involving building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, plumbing connections, and HVAC controls.
  • Conduct equipment repairs using hand tools and specialized mechanical tools while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and client records.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Install HVAC/R systems, components, and replacement equipment.
  • Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and controls.
  • Work on commercial HVAC systems ranging from 1 to 50+ tons.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
  • Recommend repair and replacement solutions to customers.
  • Complete work orders, service reports, and required documentation accurately.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean working condition.
  • Adhere to company safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide professional customer service at all job sites.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
