Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Nelson & Company is seeking a Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspecting, cleaning, and servicing various HVAC equipment, and identifying potential equipment failures. The technician will be responsible for documenting equipment condition, completing service reports, maintaining a clean work area, and communicating professionally with customers and management. Requirements
- 2 years or more of Commercial HVAC experience
- EPA License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Basic Computer Skills, including basic MS-Office products
Nice To Haves
- Multiple years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience
- Experience with installation and setup of BAS/control systems
- Knowledge in the installation and setup of VRF systems
- Understanding of cooling tower maintenance
- Experience with maintaining chilled water systems
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment
- Inspect, clean, and service rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, VRF systems, exhaust fans, and related HVAC equipment
- Replace and clean filters, belts, coils, drain systems, and other maintenance items
- Check refrigerant temperatures and pressures, electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, and operating conditions
- Identify deficiencies and potential equipment failures during maintenance
- Document equipment condition and recommended repairs
- Complete service reports accurately and professionally
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and work area
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and service management
