Entry-Level Commercial HVAC Installation & Service Technician (Data Centers)
About The Position
REIC Rentals is hiring an Entry-Level Commercial HVAC Installation & Service Technician to support our growing Data Center team throughout Northeast Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for recent HVAC trade school graduates or individuals looking to begin a career in commercial HVAC and mission-critical climate control. You'll receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians, helping install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service temporary climate control equipment that supports some of the world's most advanced data centers. Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in mission-critical data center environments.
- Willingness to travel throughout Northeast Virginia.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- Recent graduate of an HVAC or Mechanical Technology program.
- EPA Certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience in HVAC, construction, mechanical work, or another skilled trade.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, or mechanical systems.
- Rental equipment industry experience is a plus.
- Veterans are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
- Load, transport, and unload HVAC equipment and materials.
- Drive company vehicles to customer job sites (acceptable driving record required).
- Assist with installing temporary commercial HVAC and climate control equipment.
- Help run gas hoses, ducting, ventilation, and electrical connections under technician supervision.
- Assist with equipment startup and commissioning.
- Support preventive maintenance on heating, cooling, dehumidification, ventilation, and environmental control equipment.
- Assist experienced technicians with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
- Read and learn to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in both the shop and customer locations.
- Document completed work and inspections using company software.
- Follow all company safety procedures and strict customer data center safety protocols.
- Work closely with Commercial HVAC Service Technicians while learning the trade.
