About The Position

The Commercial (HVAC) Installation Helper plays a crucial supporting role in the installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within commercial projects. This position involves assisting skilled HVAC technicians by preparing job sites, handling materials, and ensuring tools and equipment are ready and maintained for efficient workflow. The helper contributes to the timely and safe completion of HVAC installations by following detailed instructions and adhering to safety protocols. This role requires physical stamina and attention to detail to support complex mechanical systems that ensure indoor environmental comfort. Ultimately, the position is vital in facilitating smooth project execution and delivering high-quality HVAC solutions to commercial clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• EPA required
• Physical stamina and safety awareness are essential for daily tasks like lifting heavy HVAC components and maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
• Communication skills enable the helper to coordinate effectively with technicians and other team members, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
• Attention to detail is critical when assisting with measurements and fitting ductwork to ensure system integrity.

Nice To Haves

• Current TDLR preferred
• Previous experience in construction or HVAC-related work.
• Familiarity with HVAC tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and blueprints.
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with HVAC tools and basic mechanical knowledge, enhance the helper’s ability to anticipate technician needs and contribute more efficiently to installations.

Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC technicians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems.
• Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment needed for installation tasks.
• Load and unload HVAC components and supplies at job sites safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Support the team by carrying out physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and positioning HVAC units.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate daily activities and report any issues.
• Help in measuring, cutting, and fitting ductwork and piping under supervision.
