About The Position

This is a two-year Commercial Graduate Program at the U.S. headquarters of RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST) in Chicago. The program is designed to help participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to become industry experts. It involves four six-month rotations, with opportunities to work in Chicago, Germany (Essen), the UK (London or Swindon), or Singapore. At least one rotation will be in a non-trading function to ensure broad business awareness. Potential areas of focus include proprietary trading of commodities (power, coal, gas, oil, LNG, metals, carbon, and freight), Commercial Asset Optimization, Analytical functions like Structuring & Valuation or Risk Management, and Digital technologies including AI-enabled tools. Participants will learn to use these tools responsibly to enhance productivity, support decision-making, foster innovation, and improve ways of working, adhering to RWE policies.

Requirements

A strong degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in a highly analytical and numerical subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Maritime Studies, Economics, or Data Science.
Strong IT proficiency.
Advanced skills in Python or another programming language are highly desirable.
Excellent English communication skills.
A collaborative mindset with a curious approach.
Motivation to take on new challenges, whether working independently or as part of a team.
Commercial aptitude and entrepreneurial drive.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Enthusiasm and determination to build skillset and seek out growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

Complete four six-month rotations in various business areas.
