About The Position

Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is seeking a Commercial ETO Engineer. This role is responsible for leading, planning, and executing custom engineering projects, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are completed within financial guidelines. The engineer will lead projects from start to finish, coordinate team members and third-party contractors, and work cross-functionally with departments like Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations. Responsibilities include participating in technical sales presentations, representing the company on industry standards committees, and driving interactions with internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for the industry, and a drive for personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred) or related technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of modeling / design / applications engineering experience
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD)

Nice To Haves

  • 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment
  • CAD Experience (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Structural analysis (RISA 3D preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience with understanding of materials and processes
  • SAP ERP experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan custom engineering projects from receipt of purchase order through timely completion of project documentation.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed within financial guidelines.
  • Define and acquire resources by coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations.
  • Participate in technical sales presentations and trainings to customers.
  • Represent the company on industry standards and codes technical committees.
  • Drive critical interactions with internal (Sales, Finance, IT, Marketing, Operations and Engineering) and external (manufacturing representatives, agents, distributors, OEM’s) customers.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design application evaluations per industry codes and standards.
  • Provide customers and end users with detailed assembly drawings, bill of materials, and layouts specific to their project.
  • Modify standard products to accommodate custom applications.
  • Implement lean principles to improve processes and eliminate waste.
  • Upgrade, develop, and deploy tools supporting technical services, engineering process automation, design configuration, and ease-of-doing-business customer tools.
