Commercial Estimator
About The Position
The Commercial Estimator role involves quantifying project components for pricing, developing unit prices, soliciting and negotiating with subcontractors and vendors, and utilizing various estimating and design software. This position also requires building relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, participating in industry events, and mentoring subordinates. The role demands considerable, sustained concentration with frequent interruptions, and moderate, varied physical effort including sitting, standing, walking, and using a mouse. The work environment is a small private office with public contact and fellow employees.
Requirements
- Proficiency in estimating software systems including: Timberline, Isqft, On Screen Take-off
- Working knowledge of design software systems: AutoCad, Revit, Bentley, Navisworks, Sketch-up Pro
- Proficiency in basic management software systems: Word, Excel
- 2-10 years of experience in a relative estimating environment
- Requires a college degree in a relevant major of study
- Requires seeing 20/20 with correction
- Requires talking hearing (with or without aid)
- Ability to utilize a mouse
