Commercial Door Technician
About The Position
Sylvester's Dock and Door Service is a fast-growing building maintenance company serving commercial customers. With over 10 years in the facility maintenance industry, we have grown from a company of one to a team of 40+ employees — including service technicians, office support staff, and sales representatives. We are seeking a Door Technician based out of our Chesapeake, VA office to perform a variety of service calls for our commercial customers. Working safely and efficiently, you will install, maintain, and repair high-speed doors, sectional doors, operators, gates, dock levelers, and related equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) or more years of recent experience as a Door Technician preferred
- Welding experience a plus
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving history
- Ability to meet customer site access requirements, which may include a background check
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair commercial doors, high-speed doors, sectional doors, operators, dock levelers, and gate systems
- Install new equipment and components at customer sites
- Maintain accurate digital work orders and communicate job status in real time
- Uphold safety standards on every job site
- Represent Sylvester's professionally with every customer interaction
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
