Commercial Diesel Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of Diesel-powered vehicles such as Recreational Vehicles, Commercial Trucks, etc. Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, running diagnostic tests on vehicles, replacing the vehicles' engine, transmission, steering mechanism or braking system and test driving the vehicle to determine if they properly fixed the maintenance issue.

Requirements

  • Strong Customer Service Experience.

  • Ability to consistently follow store policies and procedures.
  • Ability to operate machines and equipment used in the automotive mechanical trade.
  • Ability to perform all tasks with extreme accuracy and in a safe manner.
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years automotive repair experience required.
  • Must have own tools and a minimum of 1-year experience working on Diesel-Powered Vehicles.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA

Nice To Haves

  • Diagnostic scanner experience is a plus.
  • ASE certifications preferred, willingness to attain certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, high level and timely vehicle diagnosis, maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct thorough and accurate inspections in the area of repair, or at the request of the customer, and document with recommended services on the PMA.
  • Promptly deliver required service or repairs thereby meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.
  • Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
  • Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure functionality and overall safety.
  • Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
  • Complete work orders and related paperwork timely and correctly.
  • Identifies and promotes our company culture of cooperation and collaboration among all technicians. By doing so the Tire Discounter technician is both a teacher and student regardless of tenure.
  • Assist other teammates with other tasks as needed, to include tire installation, mounting, balancing and rotation, in order to consistently deliver on our minimal expectation of outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and equipment to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and employees.
  • Actively participate in company required training to include achieving required ASE certifications.
