As a Commercial Credit Expert, you will be within PNC’s Independent Risk Management organization, supporting the Central Credit Products Group (CCPG). Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of commercial credit experience, working in a Credit Officer capacity for a portion of that. Individuals will also be expected to interpret PNC’s Credit Policies and Procedures, including those pertaining to Risk Rating. Knowledge of the Commercial line of business is necessary, and subject matter expertise on the various areas of lending within the Commercial bank, including an understanding of the credit process from beginning to end, is preferred. The role involves analyzing activities associated with the applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting. It also includes analyzing the extension of credit, including overdrafts, for clients of high complexity within prescribed approval authorities, having final approval authority on an obligor's risk rating, and analyzing credit facility structure and underwriting process within the context of credit policies. The expert supports scorecard related validation, testing and maintenance activities, ensures understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively, and analyzes output to help determine decision-making. They also analyze risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends, and maintain knowledge of economic, regulatory and other trends affecting borrowers to incorporate this information into the assessment of the borrowers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of commercial credit experience
  • Working in a Credit Officer capacity for a portion of that experience
  • Ability to interpret PNC’s Credit Policies and Procedures, including those pertaining to Risk Rating
  • Knowledge of the Commercial line of business
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role
  • Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions (Customer Focused)
  • Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (Managing Risk)
  • Bachelor's degree
