As a Commercial Credit Advisor Sr., you will be within PNC’s Independent Risk Management organization, supporting the Central Credit Products Group (CCPG). Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of commercial credit experience and be expected to interpret PNC’s Credit Policies and Procedures, including those pertaining to Risk Rating. Knowledge of the Commercial line of business is necessary, and subject matter expertise on the various areas of lending within the Commercial bank, including an understanding of the credit process from beginning to end, is preferred. The role involves analyzing activities associated with applicable business segments and executing assessments, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance, portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting on moderately complex credit and credit related transactions. The Senior Commercial Credit Advisor acts as a resource to junior Commercial Credit Risk Management staff, analyzes and approves the extension of credit for clients of moderate complexity, and analyzes moderately complex credit facility structures and underwriting processes. They support scorecard related validation, testing, and maintenance activities, and have final approval authority on an obligor's risk rating. The position also requires identifying portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively, analyzing output to support decision-making, and assessing risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and trends. This includes correlating industry, economic, regulatory, and other trends affecting borrowers, providing analytical insight to identify and manage forward-looking risks, and identifying risk concentrations, systemic trends or issues. PNC employees are expected to be Customer Focused, knowledgeable of values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations, and adept at Managing Risk by assessing and effectively managing all risks associated with business objectives to ensure adherence to PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of commercial credit experience
  • Interpret PNC’s Credit Policies and Procedures, including those pertaining to Risk Rating.
  • Knowledge of the Commercial line of business
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • University / college degree (Bachelor's)

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes activities associated with applicable business segment.
  • Executes assessments (including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting) on moderately complex credit and credit related transactions.
  • Acts as a resource to junior Commercial Credit Risk Management staff.
