About The Position
Join Dow Credit Union as a Commercial Credit Analyst and play a key role in supporting the growth of our commercial lending program while delivering exceptional services to our business members. As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you'll work closely with our commercial lending team to analyze credit requests, evaluate financial performance, monitor loan portfolios, and support business members throughout their lending journey. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing expertise in commercial underwriting, risk management, and relationship support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, banking, accounting, or financial services.
- Strong financial statement and tax return analysis skills.
- Knowledge of commercial underwriting and risk assessment principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding member service.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and personal tax returns, financial statements, and credit reports to assess creditworthiness.
- Prepare comprehensive credit analyses and lending recommendations.
- Evaluate cash flow, collateral, loan structure, and repayment capacity.
- Conduct annual reviews and ongoing monitoring of business loan relationships.
- Monitor covenant compliance, collateral values, and portfolio performance.
- Assist with commercial real estate, business term loans, lines of credit, and business credit card underwriting.
- Support member inquiries and develop strong relationships with business members.
- Collaborate with Business Specialists and other teams to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
- Assist with audits, loan documentation reviews, and process improvements.
- Support compliance efforts and maintain regulatory and BSA/AML awareness.
