This role involves soundly applying the bank's credit culture and policies, acting as a policy expert. The analyst will use independent judgment and critical thinking to compile key financial data, accurately representing credit risk in loan requests. This includes global cash flow analysis, collateral analysis, industry analysis, management analysis, and overall repayment capacity. The analyst will independently complete underwriting in accordance with regulations, compliance terms, bank policy, and legal requirements. They will accept credit requests directly from borrowers, making initial decisions on declination or proceeding. The role also involves recommending appropriate risk grades, supporting them with risks, mitigants, and strengths, and serving as a resource for credit write-ups and tax return analysis. Proactive assistance in portfolio management, including annual reviews, loan review preparation, and regulatory examinations, is expected. The analyst will spread financial statements and tax returns, analyze historical performance, and review proformas. Developing appropriate loan covenants and structures, assisting in training junior analysts, and reviewing appraisals are also key responsibilities. Understanding loan documents, assisting with loan closings, and obtaining updated financial statements are part of the role. The analyst will also assist in presenting loan requests to approvers and committees, and may present credit requests on behalf of Commercial Lenders. Obtaining and analyzing third-party borrower information, maintaining data integrity, preparing reports, tracking financial information, and working with Commercial Lenders on classified assets are also required. Maintaining awareness of and adherence to the Bank's compliance requirements and risk management concepts is essential.
