As a Commercial Credit Analyst II, you'll partner closely with Commercial Lenders, Credit Officers, and other key stakeholders to evaluate lending opportunities, assess risk, and help structure sound credit solutions for businesses throughout our communities. You'll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial and commercial real estate relationships while building expertise in underwriting, portfolio management, and commercial banking strategy. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial lending, banking, or a related financial services role
  • Experience analyzing commercial financial statements, cash flow, and borrower repayment capacity

  • Strong understanding of commercial credit principles and financial statement analysis
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations, lending policies, and documentation requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking technology platforms

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections, collateral documentation, and related information to assess borrower creditworthiness.
  • Conduct ratio analysis, trend analysis, industry comparisons, and performance evaluations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks.
  • Evaluate global cash flow, guarantor strength, repayment capacity, and overall credit risk for more complex borrowing relationships.
  • Review collateral adequacy and determine appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Research businesses, industries, and market conditions to support informed lending decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums for new loan requests, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
  • Recommend appropriate loan structures, terms, covenants, and risk ratings based on financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Review organizational documents, including operating agreements, bylaws, corporate resolutions, and related legal documentation.
  • Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and potential risks to Credit Officers, Loan Committees, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Lenders and Relationship Managers to evaluate opportunities and structure credit solutions that meet client needs while protecting the bank.
  • Assist in gathering borrower information and preparing client presentations.
  • Participate in discussions regarding deal structure, portfolio strategy, and credit quality.
  • Support ongoing relationship management efforts by providing analytical insight and recommendations.
  • Assist with ongoing portfolio monitoring, risk rating reviews, and annual relationship reviews.
  • Ensure all credit documentation complies with regulatory requirements, internal credit policy, and audit standards.
  • Assist Commercial Lenders with quarterly Problem Loan Reports and other portfolio management activities.
  • Participate in portfolio stress testing, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory developments affecting commercial lending.
  • Work cross-functionally with Lending, Loan Operations, Compliance, and other internal partners to support efficient workflows.
  • Utilize the bank's core banking systems and technology tools to research loan and deposit information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to all bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
