This role is not eligible for sponsorship. The Commercial Credit Analyst II will apply the bank’s credit culture and policies, acting as a policy expert. They will use independent judgment and critical thinking to compile key financial data, accurately representing credit risk in loan requests. This includes performing global cash flow analysis, collateral analysis, industry analysis, management analysis, and assessing overall repayment capacity. The analyst will independently complete underwriting in accordance with current regulations, compliance terms, bank policy, and legal requirements. They will accept credit requests directly from borrowers and make initial decisions regarding declination or proceeding with the credit request process. The role involves recommending appropriate risk grades, supporting these grades with identified risks, mitigants, and strengths. The analyst will be a valuable resource for credit write-up/template and tax return analysis. They will proactively assist Commercial Lenders in portfolio management functions, including seeking out and assisting in the annual review process, loan review preparation, and regulatory examinations, potentially managing these processes. Responsibilities also include spreading financial statements and tax returns, analyzing historical performance, and reviewing proformas for reasonableness. Developing appropriate loan covenants to provide advance warning of potential credit risk and mitigate losses, along with developing proper loan structures, is crucial. The analyst may assist in training junior analysts and potentially manage a small group of other credit analysts or related positions. They will review and analyze appraisals for market, credit, construction, and economic risks. Understanding more complicated loan documents and assisting Commercial Lenders in working with outside legal counsel to prepare and execute loan documentation are key aspects. The role involves participating in customer meetings, independently inspecting properties, preparing customer communication on behalf of the Commercial Lender, handling simple loan closings, and working with customers to obtain updated financial statements. Assisting Commercial Lenders with presenting loan requests to approvers, Senior Lenders, and Loan Committee, attending and participating in other meetings, and potentially presenting credit requests on behalf of Commercial Lenders are also part of the duties. Obtaining, analyzing, and incorporating third-party borrower information (e.g., credit reports) and researching inconsistencies are required. Maintaining data integrity, preparing pertinent reports, tracking financial information, and working with the Commercial Lender on classified assets and reporting are also essential. The analyst must maintain awareness of and adherence to the Bank’s compliance requirements and risk management concepts, expectations, policies, and procedures, applying them to daily tasks. Delivering a consistent, high level of service within our Serving More standards is expected. Other duties as assigned.
