About The Position

MyOme is seeking its first dedicated contracts and commercial legal resource to manage the full lifecycle of commercial, vendor, and partner agreements. This high-visibility role reports into the SVP of Corporate Operations (GC) and will work closely with the Corporate Operations Manager. The position offers significant growth potential as the company scales and requires a business-partner mindset. The legal function is embedded within the business, supporting various teams including commercial, R&D, and operations.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state
  • Bar admission in California required; candidates currently admitted in another state who are eligible to waive into the California Bar are welcome to apply
  • Minimum seven (7) years out of law school, with meaningful in-house experience required
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and pragmatically to non-legal stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior law firm background is a plus
  • Experience in life sciences, genomics, digital health, or healthcare technology is strongly preferred
  • Experience using AI to augment legal reviews, processes, and contracts management
  • Familiarity with data privacy considerations (HIPAA, state privacy laws) is a plus
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including customer contracts, vendor agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, data use agreements, and partnership/licensing deals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters across commercial, R&D, and operations teams
  • Maintain and continuously improve our contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows
  • Advise business stakeholders on contract risk, obligations, and compliance in plain language
  • Support due diligence and legal review for business development and partnership opportunities
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed on complex or specialized matters
  • Ensure contracts are properly executed, stored, and tracked through their lifecycle
  • Contribute to the development of internal legal policies and procedures as the company grows
