Commercial Construction Superintendent
About The Position
Alt Construction is a growing leader in commercial construction across Central Indiana. They specialize in design-build projects, including ground-up build-to-suit buildings and tenant improvements for various sectors like retail, restaurants, sports and recreation, office, and service and maintenance facilities. Alt Construction also acts as the construction arm for in-house commercial development and design-build work, which allows field leaders to be involved earlier in the project lifecycle and work closely with project stakeholders. The company emphasizes craftsmanship, integrity, and fair treatment of clients, subcontractors, and teammates. They are seeking field leaders who are eager to grow with the company as it expands its regional presence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction field leadership, including ground-up projects (required)
- Proven ability to independently run projects and subcontractor teams
- Strong knowledge of means and methods, sequencing, and reading architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
- Experience with schedules, RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and closeout
- Comfortable with project management and scheduling software
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Central Indiana

Responsibilities
- Build and actively manage the project schedule and short-term look-ahead, and recover quickly when work slips
- Direct, sequence, and hold subcontractors accountable for schedule, manpower, workmanship, safety, and cleanup
- Provide field input during design and development on constructability, sequencing, and site logistics
- Review drawings, specs, and submittals ahead of installation, and manage RFIs so missing information never stalls the field
- Lead jobsite safety, including regular toolbox talks, and keep a clean, organized site
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals, and verify work meets plans, specs, and Alt standards
- Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, inspection records, and as-builts
- Drive punch lists, owner training, and closeout documentation through turnover
