About The Position

Tavacon, LLC is a Commercial General Contractor based in McKinney, Texas, currently seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our in-office team.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and processes
• Proficient in computer skills with experience in estimating and project management tools
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to evaluate all required scopes of work

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
• Soliciting subcontractor proposals and compiling detailed scopes of work
• Attending pre-bid meetings and conducting site visits as needed during the bidding process
• Evaluating project scope and requirements to ensure successful project execution
• Developing preliminary schedules and calculating cost factors for project estimates
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors through effective communication
• Negotiating subcontractor pricing and managing subcontract buyouts
• Preparing and submitting RFPs, RFIs, and change orders as required
