This role is responsible for managing projects from concept to closeout, including estimating costs, scheduling work, and creating detailed submittals. The position involves reading and interpreting blueprints, contracts, and regulations, creating submittals using AutoCAD or TurboCAD, and reviewing them for compliance. Responsibilities also include managing specified work according to plans and regulations, maintaining accurate records, tracking project costs, and collaborating with supervisory, engineering, and job site personnel. Requirements

  • Experience with detailing, specifications, and estimating within the commercial construction industry
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or TurboCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural design packages
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
  • Excellent math skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Valid driver's license
  • Self-motivated
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Estimate costs, schedule work, and create detailed submittals for projects from concept to closeout.
  • Ensure all project-related work is performed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, company policies, and sound construction practices.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, contracts, and government regulations.
  • Create submittals based on estimate schedules, updated plans, ASKs, RFIs, change orders, and AutoCAD or TurboCAD designs.
  • Review submittals for compliance with contract documents before submission.
  • Make any needed changes to approved drawings.
  • Thoroughly research any detailing or field problems.
  • Manage specified work in accordance with the engineer's or architect's plans, county and state regulations, and other specifications.
  • Keep accurate records and closely track project costs.
  • Regularly consult with supervisory, engineering, and job site personnel.
