About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Commercial Building Caretaker to manage the day-to-day upkeep of our two office building locations, one in Lincoln and one in Omaha. This unique, all-in-one role combines indoor janitorial services, seasonal lawn care, and light building maintenance. It is the perfect fit for a proactive individual who enjoys a mix of indoor and outdoor work, takes pride in property presentation, and values the autonomy of a highly flexible schedule.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in janitorial work, basic handyman maintenance, or professional landscaping preferred.
  • Proficient with basic hand tools and commercial lawn care equipment (mower, trimmer, blower).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong time-management skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must pass a background check including criminal history, Child and Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry, Sex Offender Central Registry, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Background check and Nebraska DMV check.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than 3 points assessed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and breakrooms daily at the Lincoln location and as needed at the Omaha location.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard surface floors, and empty all trash and recycling bins as needed at both locations.
  • Dust office desks, common areas, window sills, and blinds as needed at both locations.
  • Clean interior glass entryway doors and keep high-touch surfaces disinfected.
  • Clean, sanitize and organize family visitation areas daily at the Lincoln location and as needed at the Omaha location.
  • Perform weekly lawn mowing, string trimming, and edging around the building perimeter.
  • Keep walkways, sidewalks, and parking areas clear of debris, leaves, and weeds.
  • Maintain basic landscaping beds by pulling weeds and trimming minor overgrowth.
  • Manage light snow removal or salting on walkways during winter months (as needed).
  • Routinely inspect the facility and proactively replace burnt-out light bulbs and ballasts.
  • Perform minor building repairs, such as tightening loose hardware, oiling squeaky doors, or patching small drywall blemishes.
  • Monitor building systems and notify management of any major plumbing, electrical, or HVAC issues requiring professional service.
  • Keep an organized inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance materials.
