About The Position

The Commercial Banking Associate plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive financial solutions to commercial clients across various industries. This position involves analyzing client financials, preparing credit proposals, and assisting in the structuring and execution of commercial loans and banking products. The associate collaborates closely with relationship managers to identify client needs and develop tailored strategies that drive business growth and client satisfaction. Additionally, the role requires monitoring portfolio performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management standards. Ultimately, the Commercial Banking Associate contributes to building strong client relationships while supporting the bank’s objectives for profitability and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk assessment, and loan structuring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree in Finance or Business.
  • Experience with commercial loan underwriting and credit approval processes.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards such as Basel III and Dodd-Frank.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and credit risk software tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and credit risk assessments for commercial loan applications.
  • Prepare and present credit proposals and loan documentation for internal credit committees.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to develop customized banking solutions that meet client needs.
  • Monitor existing client portfolios to identify opportunities for cross-selling and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the credit approval process.
  • Support the execution and closing of loan transactions, including coordination with legal and underwriting teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape.
