About The Position

Bankers' Bank is seeking a Commercial Banking professional for its Indianapolis, IN office. This role serves as a production-oriented lender, contacting lenders in community banks with the specific purpose of loan generation in all types of commercial lending. The position also involves identifying opportunities for other areas of the Bank and referring them to the appropriate Correspondent Banker. The role requires business travel, including the operation of a motor vehicle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the position functions of the job.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in credit analysis, credit underwriting, portfolio management and commercial lending/relationship management.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Position requires business travel, including operation of a motor vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial lending compliance is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop individual relationships with all levels of current and prospect market community banks.
• Analyze and evaluate prospective borrowers' financial information, management quality, collateral, industry risk, and business viability.
• Analyze and evaluate correspondent bank's ongoing strength and stability, including capacity to fulfill any agency, administrative or fiduciary responsibilities.
• Participate and coordinate in the participation of commercial loans being sold.
• Work with the analyst team to underwrite qualified, commercial loan requests according to Bank policy and risk standards.
• Evaluate loan pricing and structure relative to risk to maintain Bank standards.
• Maintain expert level knowledge of Bank products and services in order to meet the needs of and answer questions posted by correspondent banks. This includes any Bank subsidiary products and services.
• Identify and refer additional opportunities for loan or fee-based business with correspondent banks.
• Assist in the daily supervision and delegation of duties for the designated Portfolio Manager.
