About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Commercial AV Sales Engineer to support our sales team in designing and delivering innovative audio-visual solutions for corporate, education, healthcare, hospitality, and government clients. This role blends technical expertise with consultative sales skills to develop customized AV systems that meet client objectives, budgets, and timelines. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in commercial AV systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex solutions into clear value for customers.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of experience in commercial AV integration, design, or engineering
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems including DSP, video distribution, control systems, collaboration platforms, and networked AV
  • Experience with platforms such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, and Shure
  • Familiarity with unified communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and construction documents
  • Strong understanding of AV-over-IP and basic networking principles
  • Excellent presentation and customer-facing communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CTS or CTS-D certification (AVIXA)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage systems
  • Experience working in commercial construction environments

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to identify customer needs and define technical requirements
  • Lead our team in the design of complete AV systems including audio, video, control, collaboration, and networked AV solutions
  • Develop system schematics, signal flow diagrams, scope of work documents, and bill of materials
  • Ensure solutions align with industry standards and client IT/security policies
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Lead technical discovery meetings and site surveys
  • Respond to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs with accurate technical documentation
  • Provide cost estimates and assist in proposal development
  • Support contract negotiations from a technical perspective
  • Serve as technical advisor to clients throughout the sales cycle
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and distributors for product selection and pricing
  • Maintain knowledge of leading AV manufacturers and emerging technologies
  • Provide technical training and guidance to internal sales teams
  • Conduct project turnover meetings with project management and engineering teams
  • Ensure accurate documentation and scope clarity prior to project execution
