About The Position

Under general supervision, researches, gathers, develops, verifies, and maintains data, and produces reports for the commercial appraisal department, performs other support tasks, and provides back-up support for the Appraisal Analyst position. This job description may be updated at any time to accommodate evolving requirements and responsibilities of the Assessor’s Office. All Assessor Employees are expected to: • Work independently and in a team with tact, support, and cooperation for customers, co-workers, and supervisors. • Be capable of effectively using Microsoft suite of office software. • Perform other duties as assigned, assist in all functions of the office, and train co-workers. • And be aware that work may be occasionally required outside normal business hours, and time off may be discouraged during certain customer-support periods. As this is a public office, and due to conflict of interest concerns, all employees of the Tulsa County Assessor’s Office must place any real estate license in an INACTIVE status while employed here, or as soon as any current transactions are completed.

Requirements

  • Skill in producing reports, maintaining electronic records, and in verifying information
  • Able to work with spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing software (Word)
  • Able to navigate the County Clerk and Assessor’s websites
  • Able to use Listbuilder in Realware and produce reports
  • Knowledge of commercial sales, of applicable statutes, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Able to perform research, present data in a useful manner, and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business media, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, coworkers, taxpayers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
  • Upon hire, obtain and maintain Certificate of Advanced Accreditation as provided in Title 68 O.S. §2816

Responsibilities

  • Process mail, decision letters, and questionnaires with property owners
  • Verify sales of commercial property, and identify issues for update or correction
  • Develop sales and property information and corresponding reports
  • Prepare building permits and produce corresponding reports
  • Research mortgages and change of title
  • Support the protest and appeals process
  • Scan documents, assist with all mailings, and other clerical duties
  • Track department production measures
  • Provide back-up support to the Appraisal Analyst position
