About The Position

Lucas Industrial, a family-owned welding, fabrication, and structural steel operation in Murfreesboro, is expanding and seeking a Commercial & Industrial Construction Estimator. Requirements

Bachelor's degree required (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field)
5+ years of estimating experience
Commercial and industrial construction experience
Strong working knowledge of on-site construction processes
Proficiency in reading construction plans and specifications
Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments

Nice To Haves

Structural steel and welding experience preferred
Solid understanding of construction equipment, materials, and labor costs
Retail construction experience (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

Producing detailed, accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects, including big-box retail work
Reviewing drawings, specifications, addenda, and scope documents with precision
Developing material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Coordinating with field teams to validate scopes, change orders, and cost impacts
Preparing and estimating change orders and securing approvals
Maintaining organized estimate files and documentation
Supporting scheduling and workload planning with operations
Communicating professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
Meeting win/loss ratio targets and supporting company quota goals
Participating in pricing, scope, and contract negotiations
Following up consistently throughout the bidding and award process
Upholding company standards for professionalism, confidentiality, and data management
