About The Position

The Commercial Analyst, reporting to the Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Analyst as applicable, is responsible for preparing quotations for the division’s plants with guidance from their Commercial group line manager. The role partners closely with sales, customer service, operations and legal to develop accurate, professional quotations and assists with the preparation of NDAs, LTAs and other contracts that meet business and customer expectations. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • 4 year college degree in Finance, Sales & Marketing, Metallurgy/Material Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of quoting, pricing, costing, or business analytics experience.
  • Must be capable of interpreting blue prints and specifications.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication for interfacing with top management levels, various plant personnel and sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability for attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Requires computer experience, specifically with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must possess a high degree of understanding of basic math and algebraic functions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • CRM program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotations across the relevant business units (HIP, HT, Surface Technology), under the guidance of the Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Managers, and Senior Commercial Analysts in the team.
  • Prepare quotations using a disciplined mathematical model based on established standards of costing, margin expectations, and competitive knowledge.
  • Utilize Salesforce for accurate quote tracking, with accurate data entry and attention to detail.
  • Follows established procedures to develop pricing on various processes for plants, collaborating with Commercial team members, sales, operations, and customer service as required.
  • Assist with quote revisions as assigned by Commercial Operations Manager.
  • Collaborates with customers and internal stakeholders to analyze and assess pricing, quotes, and business strategy.
  • Meaningful metrics are prepared and presented to sales and commercial management on a regular basis.
  • Collaborates with customers and internal departments such as quality, customer service, order entry, billing and accounts receivables to resolve issues.
  • Promote and practice team work with other team members and corporate staff.
  • Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
