About The Position
Bowers is seeking a Commercial A-Class Driver with a great attitude to operate all types of commercial trucks, including tractor trailers. This person must have a good driving record and safety record behind the wheel of commercial trucks. The position is based in Beltsville, MD. No sponsorship is available for this position. The hourly rate is $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have 3 years driving experience behind the wheel of a commercial truck.
- Must have an updated DOT 2 year medical card and physically able to perform his or her daily requirements.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety‑focused.
- Must be able to use company phone for communication purposes.
- Must follow direction and safety protocol on all jobsites and shop locations.
- Willingness to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and steel toe leather boots).
- Comfortable driving on construction sites with materials laying around in tight areas.
- Abiding all posted highway signs and commercial truck regulations.
- Ability to climb on and off truck and trailers.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to work during inclement weather and temperature changing conditions all year. Changing jobsite conditions that are weather related.
- Candidates must have current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Delivering and picking up material from all shop locations and jobsites.
- Maintaining a safe and clean driving record while accomplishing tasks and deliveries.
- Making sure to keep his or her equipment clean and in safe working condition.
- Performing and filling out daily inspection sheets and mileage/fuel reports.
