About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Command & Telemetry (C&T) Network Engineer for its National Security Team, which supports the intelligence community by providing, operating, and assuring critical voice, video, and collaboration services. This technical role involves solution and design engineering for government passive and active network infrastructures, including wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Access and Control Interfaces (CI), and Command and Telemetry networks across multiple classification levels. The engineer will be responsible for C&T Network Engineering and supporting other engineering teams in all network design and engineering activities. This position requires a minimum of 5 days per week in the office at a government customer site in Chantilly, VA.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years.
  • Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • A basic sysadmin understanding of Linux Operating system would also be acceptable.
  • An understanding of low speed RS422 serial communications to include RS533 electrical specifications and cabling.

Nice To Haves

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly supports the technical assessment and delivery of a specific technical network solution to the customer.
  • Provides a key support role in operating as a conducive high-performance team across all lifecycle stages.
  • Provides technical direction and engineering expertise for Command and Telemetry solutions using KRATOS T500MX-XC or ARKA P&DB's (Packet & Data Buffers).
  • Provides technical direction and engineering expertise for network systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements for buildings and systems (Routers, Switches, BGP, VRF, VLAN, NTP).
  • Generate installation plans, procedures, templates, and training documentation, which will be used by other service team members to efficiently deploy Command and Telemetry solutions.
  • Performs/Conducts the transition/transformation from existing to new network design solutions.
  • Provides technical consulting and advice to others on efforts, solution design, system management, tuning and modification of solutions.
  • Collects and determines data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements.
  • Responds to requests for technical information from customers.
  • Develops customer technology solutions using various industry products and technologies.
