About The Position

The Command Center serves as the highest level of escalation when a supplier is at risk of impacting GM production less than one week out. The Command Center works with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate conference calls where coordination of critical parts shipments and allocation between multiple plants/programs occurs, among other things.

Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program management, manufacturing or logistics.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments.
  • Computer skills and knowledge with understanding of (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field.
  • Master's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus.
  • Production Control & Logistics Experience.
  • Proficient in MGO.
  • Material system knowledge.
  • Purchasing system knowledge.
  • Skilled in managing projects.
  • Planning and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed.
  • Plant Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recovery process for assigned Command Center cases with appropriate GM functional staff and Assembly/Metal Centers.
  • Work with other coordinators managing critical supply issues that come into the NASO Command Center.
  • Must have some flexibility and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. Flexibility to include rotation of short-term working off shift hours from home.
  • Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate with leadership.
  • Develop and lead complex flow plans for supplier performance tracking and plant allocation of critical parts.
  • Will be using MGO, Web-focus and various other tools to analyze supply chain status and develop countermeasures when necessary.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as the need arise including Holiday supplier work plans, premium reduction initiatives and late/increased production changes.
  • Must be able to manage very complex & stressful supply issues to resolution with goal to eliminate/minimize plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation.
