Our Summer Internship Program is a transformative experience designed to help you grow, connect, and take the next step in your professional journey. Comcast Government Affairs is a part of Comcast,locatedin Washington, DC. We serve as the company's lobbying and advocacy arm,representingComcast before the House and Senate Congressional Members, as well as the Administration. This group serves as the eyes and ears of the company in Washington,monitoringhow new laws and regulations mayimpactthe business and working to shape those outcomes. The intern will be part of this team. In addition to the Lobby Team, the Washington, DC office includes the Regulatory Team, whichadvocates forthe company before theFCC—the federal agency that oversees telecommunications, including video and broadband. Other key teams in the office include the DC Policy Team, the Communications Team, theNBCGovernment Affairs Team, and theNBCRegulatory Team. These groups collaborate closely every day to guide the company's engagement with policymakers. They develop and execute strategies to influence policy decisions from both Congress and the Administration. The intern will work with the Federal Government Affairs team. There areninelobbyists on the team.Theintern will be partof meetingsand discussionswith the team. The team is a broad mix of former Senate and House staffers and association lobbyists.They all work well together and collaborateon a daily basis. The intern will learn thatactionslawmakerstake in Congress affect all citizens. They will learn how a Fortune 50 company interacts with policy makers and law makers and what the Federal Government Affairs team does to influence the policy coming out of the Congress and the Administration. The intern will watch hearings, be involved in meetings with House and Senatestaffersand will be part of the strategy sessions that occur on a regular basis. The intern willattendSenate and House meetings; the Congressional baseball game where Congressional Democrats play the Republicans;attendCongressional hearings;compileCongressional lists;andattend Administration meetings when available.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
  • Must have excellent time management and verbal/written communication skills
  • Must have great attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must have ability tointerface withall levels of management
  • Must be able to work evenings (when necessary)
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest in working on the Hill after graduation or has previously worked on theHill;
  • Strong interest in government affairs/regulatory affairs.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel,required
  • Proficiencyin Adobe InDesign is a plus, but notrequired
  • Strong interest in the telecommunications,cableand media industries.
  • Preferred Majors:Political Science, but open to any major withpreviousHill experience

Responsibilities

  • Watch Congressional hearings and take notes for circulation toComcastLegislative Affairs team.
  • Work with members of the Legislative Affairs team on various projects.
  • Conduct guided legislative and Congressional research on topics of interest to Comcast NBCUniversal.
  • Attendinternal Comcast meetings andtakenotes for staff.
  • Support the Legislative Affairs team in planning and execution of Comcast corporate events.
  • Attend meetings with Congressional staff.
  • Process consultant invoices and other administrative assignments as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
