About The Position
Activities aimed at proving a concept to be valid or technically feasible by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Work in this family typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept. Roles and Responsibilities include conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. This includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotordynamics, vibrations) behaviour of mechanical systems. Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills. Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters. A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S. or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Chemical, or other comparable Engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
- 2-4 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluids Engineering and/or Quality.
- Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States of America.
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities
