About The Position

Plan, lay out, weld, install, test, and repair pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. The role involves precision pipe fitting and welding, coordinating with field crews, supporting prefabrication and rigging, and ensuring work meets production, quality, safety, code, design, and contract requirements. The position is identified as skilled and is for a night shift.

Requirements

May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in the field or a related area.
Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and oral instructions effectively with management and supervision.
Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
Able to meet all physical requirements.
Must have all required tools.
Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as workload requires.

Responsibilities

Plan, diagram, and lay out pipe-welding work.
Coordinate with field labor crews for efficient installations.
Position welding setups, fit piping, and independently perform precise welds.
Lay out and assemble pipes according to production standards, quality and safety requirements, codes, designs, and specifications.
Repair welding defects and substandard welds.
Assist with coordination of prefabrication layouts or installations.
Assist with rigging materials.
Operate air arc gougers, grinders, stress-relieving machines, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for work activities.
Inspect subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, and explain and take corrective action.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
