About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated, career-minded Combo Pipe Welder / Fitter to lay out, fabricate, and assemble pipe in the field and fabrication shop, and to install and maintain industrial production and process piping and welding systems. The position involves working with carbon steel and stainless steel pipe, fittings, supports, hangers, and related equipment, following job specifications and company, safety, and project policies. The role has no supervisory responsibility and may require travel to multiple job sites, typically without overnight stays. The employee may work indoors or outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, in areas with noise, fumes, or airborne particles, and in confined spaces or at heights. The role routinely uses construction equipment, heavy machinery, hand tools, and power tools. Physical activities may include working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, standing or walking for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience with TIG and Stick pipe welding using techniques that may include electric, gas, arc, or other equipment, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
Must pass an ASME pipe welding test and a background check.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of industrial mechanical systems.
Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, demonstrate attention to detail, and solve problems.
Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may need to complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal-history checks.
Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
Ability to work at heights without fear and meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to correctly identify colors of color-coded cables or wires and demonstrate close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and isometric plans or drawings.
Field-verify pipe routing and systems before fabrication; measure routings and fabricate pipe to fit existing in-line systems, using instrumentation cut sheets for spool-piece takeouts.
Plan and lay out installation sequences to avoid obstructions, and select appropriate tools and equipment.
Cut, clean, bevel, prepare, assemble, fabricate, and install pipe and fittings, including carbon steel and stainless steel.
Determine the required equipment and welding method based on metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques; weld pipe joints using applicable methods.
Install pipe and related materials and equipment, including supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
Secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools; remove slag and rough spots with a grinder, file, or scraper as needed.
Perform layout, rigging, and transportation of pipe, valves, and fittings; thread pipe using a threading machine.
Assemble and install metal or nonmetal pipe and fittings using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints and hand tools.
Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials and workpieces during installation as needed.
Use respiratory protection when required and comply with company, safety, and project policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
