This specific role is for an experienced Combo Welder to join the Capital Projects Team at P66 in Old Ocean, TX. This position is not eligible for per diem and is ideal for a local candidate. Candidates must pass a weld test and safety council requirements, as well as a drug test and employment physical.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the specified skill.
  • Pass a written pre-employment qualification test.
  • Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Complete Hazard Communication orientation/test.
  • Complete Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination.
  • Possess OSHA-approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
  • Complete job site orientation.
  • Adhere to job site safety requirements as required by the client (e.g., clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots).
  • Use safety equipment as required by the client (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard).
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, and building and bridge parts.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Weld pipe (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome) using processes such as arc, heliarc, gas, mig, and tig.
  • Weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Use a cutting torch to cut materials and dismantle existing assemblies.
