About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking Combination Welders for maintenance work at Ascend located in Chocolate Bayou, TX. This is a local position with no per diem, ideal for candidates residing in the area. The work schedule is typically 4-10 hour shifts, but this is subject to change. Candidates must successfully pass a weld test and a safety council evaluation, as well as a drug test and employment physical.

Requirements

Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill.
Written pre-employment qualification test.
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
Hazard Communication orientation/test.
Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination.
OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
Job site orientation.
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.

Responsibilities

Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, and building and bridge parts.
Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts.
Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
Weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc., by process of arc, heliarc, gas, mig, tig, etc.
Weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Use a cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
