About The Position

T-Solutions is seeking a Combat Systems Port Engineer (CSPE) to ensure the operational readiness of ships. As the onboard representative, the CSPE will validate shipboard conditions, lead a maintenance team, and serve as the primary representative for the Type Commander (TYCOM) and Commanding Officer for off-ship maintenance and modernization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of assigned ship(s) to maintain mission readiness.

Requirements

Experience and knowledge with USN surface ship combat systems and communications systems.
Shipboard experience with C4I and C5I systems operation and maintenance.
Knowledge and experience with depot level combat systems and communications (C4I, C5I) repairs, maintenance, alteration/modernization, and testing and integration of systems.
Significant knowledge and experience with one or more major US Navy surface ship combat or communications systems.
Five years’ experience in a leadership role as either a Chief Petty Officer (E7 or higher), Limited Duty Officer (LDO), or Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) level or higher rank in the combat systems and C4I/C5I operating and maintenance community.
Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired; however, candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations.
Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport.
Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor or manager when not in the office, including using personal equipment and services for business-related purposes.

Candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered.

Responsibilities

Interface with ship's crew, department heads, and commanding officer daily to discuss Consolidated Ships Maintenance Plan (CSMP) shortfalls, implementation, insufficiencies, and validate new work items.
Verify and check validated off-ship maintenance (2 kilos), including equipment testing, system performance, and making recommendations for repair actions.
Recommend timing of repairs and identify the most cost-effective maintenance level.
Provide risk assessment and prioritization of all on and off-ship maintenance requirements.
Attend ship maintenance/repair assessment events and address questions regarding funding, scope, mission impacts, and logistics.
Identify weaknesses in maintenance plans and recommend modernization.
Determine, validate, and diagnose specific maintenance requirements for assigned ships or craft.
Recommend ship owner authorization or deferral of identified maintenance requirements.
Screen authorized work to appropriate industrial activities and Continuous Maintenance availability periods.
Integrate authorized work items for each industrial availability to ensure an optimized work package.
Monitor industrial availability execution and support Government efforts to control quality, schedule, and cost.
Provide engineering and technical recommendations concerning the design, installation, logistic support, and priority of planned modernization.
Recommend solutions to maintenance-related environmental, logistics, technical, and engineering problems encountered in ship repair and modernization.
