About The Position

Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Combat-Fire Control Weapons Platform Systems Engineer to support an innovative program office. You will provide engineering expertise supporting submarine combat systems, weapons systems, fire control systems, platform modernization efforts, system integration, testing, and lifecycle engineering activities. This role supports the development, evaluation, and modernization of mission-critical undersea warfare capabilities while working closely with Navy engineers and technical teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Equivalent military or industry experience supporting U.S. Navy submarine combat systems may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting design, troubleshooting, testing, analysis, and modernization of complex naval combat systems.
  • Experience with submarine or shipboard Combat Systems and associated Fire Control Systems.
  • Experience supporting weapons systems including torpedoes, missiles, payload systems, launcher systems, sonar, radar, electronic warfare, navigation, or imaging systems.
  • Experience conducting system integration, interoperability, reliability, cyber survivability, and test & evaluation activities.
  • Ability to develop engineering reports, technical recommendations, trade studies, and system documentation.
  • Experience supporting platform modernization efforts, technical data package development, installation planning, PICOs, SOVTs, and systems verification activities.
  • Experience developing or supporting Concept of Operations (CONOPS), interface documentation, operational procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with government customers, engineers, and program leadership.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and MATLAB.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • TS Clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System engineering, testing, or modernization.
  • Knowledge of SWFTS architecture, submarine combat system hardware/software integration, and tactical equipment.
  • Experience with submarine land-based engineering laboratories and combat systems testing environments.
  • Knowledge of submarine launcher systems, weapons control systems, torpedoes, missiles, strike operations, and associated Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems (NPES).
  • Experience supporting factory acceptance testing, environmental testing, system integration testing, or operational demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with submarine operational documentation and firing procedures.
  • Prior U.S. Navy submarine, NAVSEA, NUWC, warfare center, or defense contractor experience supporting undersea warfare systems.
  • Experience working within Department of Defense systems engineering and acquisition environments.

Responsibilities
