About The Position

The Comanche Language Department Program Coordinator supports the Department Director by managing the administrative work related to planning, directing and coordinating the operational activities of the various language programs. Key skills for this position include problem solving, listening to and incorporating feedback from many sources, research and data collection, gathering and synthesizing information, communicating with varied constituencies, building and sustaining relationships with diverse groups, and perseverance to overcome challenging issues and situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or three (3) or more years of experience in business administration, marketing, accounting, or related administrative field.
  • Track record of administrative work experience with a Native language program, tribal government, or other relevant organization.
  • Prior experience managing budgets and preparing reports.
  • Strong computer skills including creating spreadsheets, presentation, and other public relations material.
  • Ability to effectively to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret related program documents, and have strong administrative writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and research skills.
  • Must possess a Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and be insurable under the Comanche Nation's Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass Drug Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director and other team members by scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics, facilitating communication, departmental purchasing, and other administrative functions of the department.
  • Provides support and information to department staff and other tribal employees on a variety of issues related to the language program.
  • Resolves administrative issues by keeping the lines of communication open and moving proactively to overcome bureaucratic obstacles.
  • Maintains the administrative records of the department and serves as primary point of contact between the Comanche Language Department, the Business Committee, and other departments of the Comanche Nation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
