A day in the life… Review brand seasonal color palette and assess any potentially difficult (high touch) colors. Identify the best process routes for individual colors by working with mills and dye companies. Communicate externally and internally the seasonal color palette as directed by design team. Partner with external suppliers to evaluate and approve or reject lab dip and bulk results; communicate results to the brand team via tracking chart. Ensure the same color across product categories is cohesive and consistent. Act as technical advisor to individual suppliers or mills that need help achieving standards either at lab dip or bulk processing stage, as required. Maintain color reference library and ensure accurate record keeping. Follow industry standard and proper color communication. Support and execute against calendar with cross-divisional team to ensure all milestones and due dates are met. Communicate with cross-divisional team where late color approval may impact delivery. Operate digital color measurement equipment and ensure that the suppliers who use this equipment are conforming to Nordstrom color SOPs. Build effective relationships with internal partners in Design, Product Development, Materials and Sourcing to help execute cross functional synergy and collaboration to provide best product offering in alignment with customer strategy. Assist in supporting process improvements, scaling the business and seeking opportunities to positively affect category/brands and standardize work. Support continuous improvement plans using Operation Excellence tools across cross functional departments (Kaizen Events, Toyota Principles, and Value Stream Mapping).
