About The Position

As the Color Styling Technologist, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and executing lab best practices for color development, color formula generation, and color communication/documentation. You will report to the Associate Manager, S&T Color and be onsite at the Huntington Beach Center.

Requirements

3+ years' experience in laboratory work and be able to optimally read, understand and modify color formulas
Degree demonstrating science, laboratory, math and problem solving skills
Must complete and pass Farnsworth-Munsell color vision test

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and proficiency of latest color spectrophotometer, color software and color data management tools
Knowledge in Color Science (color spaces, color difference equations) and color measurement instruments preferred

Responsibilities

Perform color matching for projects and requests on time in full.
Execute inconsistent workloads from field requests and prioritize accordingly.
Develop and test color standard, compatibility, and reference materials to support color data management.
Develop non-traditional color projects on time in full as directed by business priority including stain, adhesives/sealants, and aerosols.
Support manufacturing and field concerns through root cause analysis and corrective action best practices.
Communicate with supervisor, internal and external R&D scientists, product, plant, marketing, and sales managers/salespeople.
Perform tinting, panel preparation, color evaluation, paint and coating evaluation, color adjustments and support to manufacturing color quality control.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
